HISTORY
Stangl Pottery was initially founded in 1814 by Samuel Hill in the small New Jersey town of Flemington.  Using the red earthenware clay found in the landscape surrounding Flemington Hill produced utilitarian crocks, jars, and drainpipes.  During the 1860's pottter Abram Fulper acquired the company and continued the production of utilitarian pottery but added the production of stoneware.  In 1910 William Fulper II, grandson for Abram, hired ceramic engineer Martin Stangl.  Wilson Warblers are one of the smallest warbler species; these two figurines have the black cap on the head which is distinctive to the male Wilson Warblers.
DESCRIPTION
This listing is for a set of two (2) vintage Stangl art pottery Wilson Warbler figurines.  Both birds are depicted in a perched position and have slightly different hand painted coloration which can be seen in the photographs provided.

Both pieces are fully marked with the Stangl backstamp, artist's initials, and the model number hand cut into the pottery 3597.
CONDITION
This set of two (2) vintage Stangl Wilson Warbler figurines is in wonderful condition.  Both figurines are free of any signs of damage such as chips, cracks, flea bites, and repairs.   I did not notice any signs of crazing in the outer clear glaze layer.  These Stangl Wilson Warbler bird figurines have come from a smoke free estate collection and are odor free.
