The coin is round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coin’s edge is grained.

at the top – the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus; in the center – the representation of a little bird held in the palms and the year of issue beneath it and the alloy standard on the silver coin, circumferential inscriptions: at the top – РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS) and at the bottom – the denomination: 10 РУБЛЁЎ (10 RUBLES).
Reverse
in the center – the relief image of the common swift (it has been named bird of the year 2012 in Belarus); and circumferential inscriptions: on the right side – ЧОРНЫ СВIРГУЛЬ (THE COMMON SWIFT) and on the left side – ПТУШКА ГОДА (BIRD OF THE YEAR).
