The coin are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is grained.
Obverse
: in a circle at the top - a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus and an inscription: РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (Republic of Belarus); on the left under the inscription - the year of issue, the alloy standard, on the right -  the denomination: 50 RUBLES. In the center, framed by the gate, there is an ornamental headpiece and six initials from the Irmologion. On both sides of the gate, there are saints who praise God according to the Irmologion. Behind them, against the background of temples, are believers who personify the Orthodox Church.
Reverse
: in the center - a spread of the Barkalabov Irmologion with the image of the title page. Along the circumference of the coin there are ornamental elements based on the title page of the Irmologion. At the bottom - the inscription: БАРКАЛАБАЎСКІ ІРМАЛОЙ (Barkolabov irmoloi). Above - two angels holding a medallion depicting the Holy Trinity orthodox Church of the Kucein's monastery.
