    This was a family discovery when clearing an estate of its collectibles.
    These buttons and Infantry Insignia Patch were
    possibly from an officer
    serving in the
    Union Army during the Civil War
    (however they could be even older than that).
    It is unknown if this dates back to
    pre-civil war days and would need
    more expert evaluation to determine this.
    These have been kept in this small display
    case - stored away for years.
