    Lightly utilized, tested good,
    Lionel 12885 40 Watt AC Transformer & Controller
    with Whistle & Direction controls
    for O/027 gauge or S gauge AC trains that came with Lionel train set.
    This was the Lionel basic set transformer for over 10 years from 1994-2005 until it was replaced by the single unit PowerMax+ transformer.
    It features 40 Watts of variable AC power, Horn/ Whistle and Direction buttons, Power & Overload indicator lamp and a large knob for track voltage/power throttle control.
    The two piece construction allows the
    heavy transformer brick to  remain on floor while the light weight controller can be used on the layout / table top.
    This transformer provides sufficient power to run most "starter" class engines (truck mounted can motor diesels, single can motor steam engines) and all the smaller motorized units such as trollies, inspection cars, handcars, fire-cars, SuperStreets, etc...  I would not recommend this transformer for Post-War steam engines with whistle tenders or large, vertical, dual can motor diesel engines nor any dual-Pullmor motor engines.
    Additionally, it is a fine alternate power source for the LionChief line of engines that will also enable the running of conventional engines (but not at the same time!)
    Works with O/027 gauge 3 rail trains from Lionel, MTH and K-Line.
