When you unscrew the handle, there is a small factory blemish on the bottom of plate, at the place where the center handle is screwed together. When it is in place, the defect is not visible. As I'm sure you know, Stangl was hand painted by the decorators employed there and this is part of the charm and appeal of Stangl; each and every piece is just a bit unique.

    Stangl Pottery GOLDEN BLOSSOM Center Handled Deviled Egg Plate Tray Server Vintage
    A vintage Stangl item; a Golden Blossom, center handle, deviled egg plate.  Golden Blossom was produced from the mid 1960's to 1978.  The pattern features a yellow inner band on white background with mustard and brown trim. The back is the signature Stangl brown terra cotta clay color.  It is marked above oval "hand painted"  and in the oval "Stangl Pottery Trenton, N.J." and "5199" under the Stangl oval mark.  A fine addition for your Stangl collection.  Holds 12 eggs.  9-1/4" in diameter.  Has the gold tone metal center handle for ease of passing and carrying.  This handle screws on and off for cleaning and storing.  The Stangl designer for this pattern was Irene Sarnecki, the shape style was #5129 Tiara shape.
