Historic Walt Disney Memorabilia from Saturday's Toys presents...
a vintage postage stamp featuring the portrait of Walt Disney with an animated scene from his final full-length animated film, "The Jungle Book."  Issued as a tribute to Walt Disney (1901 - 1966) following the success of the USPS honor presented to Mrs. Walt Disney and family on September 11, 1968.
However, the circulation of the San Marino stamp was much more limited.  As such, this stamp was often overlooked in its time, in spite of the desirable image imprinted on the postage stamp.
Issued by the country of San Marino (Italy; aka Republic of San Marino) in 1970 through the I.P.S. (International Postal System; Rome, Italy).
The stamp was issued with a price of 220 Lira (aka Sammarinese lira; previously pegged to the Italian lira).
Measures approx 1.2" x 1.5"; excellent condition, as shown.
